By far the oldest movie in the top 50, Star Wars Episode IV enters just inside the the top 30.
The first star wars to be released, but 4th in the chronological series of Star Wars, won 6 Academy Awards and was nominated for 6 BAFTA's. The film also won an Oscar for Best Original Score.
28.Spider-Man

Spider-Man is the first film in the top 50 to make over $800 Million.
The first film in the Spider-Man trilogy was the first film to reach over $100 Million, it won several Teen Choice and Saturn Awards, and was also nominated for 2 Academy Awards.
The Spider-Man films are now rumoured to be being remade, so that The Avengers film will be a huge success.
27.Independance Day

Worldwide Box Office:$811,200,000
The Sci-fi hit starring Will Smith enters at number 27.
The film was at one point the second highest grossing film of all time. It won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
After the September 11 attacks talk of a sequel was discussed, this all died down until recently, on July 24th 2011, where it was stated by the director that he had an idea for a sequel and hoped Will Smith would return to continue his role.
26.Inception

Worldwide Box Office:$817,068,851
The biggest film hit of last year enters just outside the top 25.
The film won 4 Academy Awards for Best Cinematography, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Visual Effects. The film also had a further 4 nominations.
It was also nominated for 9 BAFTA's, winning a total of 3 for Best Production Design, Best Special Visual Effects and Best Sound.
Inception was also nominated for 4 Golden Globe's.
