Hopefully this is the last film in the POTC series.
In my mind they should never have done this film, taking out Orlando Bloom and Kira Knightly was taking out half the movie. Yes Captain Jack was the main focus of the films, but I just don't think it worked without the rest of the cast.
This is yet another story of taking a series too far. At World's End was pushing it, this installment didn't just push it over the edge. It kicked it over, shouting 'THIS IS SPARTAN' in the process.
I might be getting a bit of track here...
The storyline wasn't great, it wasn't poor but it didn't quite catch focus as the last films did.
The characters weren't up to scratch in filling the gaps left by those they had replaced. It's the short of thing that doesn't work without the original characters. A bit like Two And A Half Men, it's just not gonna be the same without Charlie Sheen.
If this wasn't a POTC film, I'd be a hell of alot more brutal in this, but as I liked the previously films I don't wanna hit the nail on the head completely.
My advice is, if you really liked the original films, give this one a miss. You may like it, and hey that's your opinion, but it does mean that you have a awful taste in films. Sorry to inform you.
Disapointing is an understatement. I just hope Disney call it a day and make a new series, as they have the capability to do it.
