New Captain America Poster

So, earlier today a new Captain America poster was unveiled. This is the frst poster that shows him amongst his allies, unlike previous ones that pictured him all alone, with just his shield for company.
We also get a sneak peek at the bad guy, Red Skull.
With the newest trailer being unveiled last week-Click Here if you missed it, the film looks on track. Pretty epic looking too.

If you have recently escaped from living in a whole and have no idea what is going on, Captain America: The First Avenger is the story of a weedy young man in world war 2 that is overlooked by the officers because, well to be honest, he's useless.
The he undergos a precedure and becomes Captain America, and goes off to shit all over the Nazi's.
Simple really.

Transformers:Dark Of The Moon

People that know me will confirm I have a Transformers addiction, so I was really hoping that this movie was not a flop like so many extended series' of films have been before. I was not let down.
It seems to be with Transformers that the films get better each time. This is weird as usually films get worse down the line before epicly failing. Not this time.

The main talking point I've seen is the absense of Megan Fox, now I know this is hard to deal with but the new girl in the film, Rosie Huntingdon-Whiteley, is pretty much the perfect replacement.
Megan Fox got too big for her boots, made some Nazi remarks and that's the reason Spielberg and Bay axed her character.
I liked the fact that in this film they did make a few referrances to her to make it more natural. There is many a director that would have just cut the character completely and pretended it was never there.

I'm not a fan of 3D movies the majority of the time due to one simple fact. It's hardly ever used.
However for Transformers I went to see both the 2D version and the 3D version. I had read reports that the 3D in Transformers was the best since Avatar. For those of you who have not seen Avatar, it was the best 3D movie ever.
I'd like the confirm that fact. The 3D was awesome. They used it well, played on it's advantages.
Saying that it doesn't mean the 2D version was any less epic, either one is brilliant so it's just dependant on your preferances.
I will add that my girlfriend, who hates 3D with a passion, said that it was really good.

The film was extremely long, 2 hours and 37 minutes. There was at no point a time where I got bored, or hoped it was ending soon. In fact time flew by. It was only at the end that I noticed how much time had elapsed.

The graphics, design, destruction, new autobots, new decepticons, new bad guys, ending. It was all epic.

I would not be surprised if this is the last Transformers in the series, but if there is anyone that can keep it going Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg are definately the two candidates that stand out.

A great film for Transformers fans, Sci Fi fans and general movie fans.

New Apollo 18 Trailer

Apollo 18, the film supposed to show the 'real' story on a secret NASA mission that went horribly wrong, released a new trailer earlier today.

The feature suggests America really did send another group of atsronauts to a moon landing after the events of Apollo 17.

The trailer builds up the thrill and tension, with a glimpse of the no named cast. The cast is not named as they are supposed to be 'real' astronauts. It then shows how it all goes pear shaped as they encounter something terrible, which has not been revealed.

New Captain America Trailer Arrives

Marvel's latest movie outing released a new trailer yesterday.
Chris Evan's stars as Captain America who starts of as a weakling and then transforms into a warrior in true Marvel comic book fashion.

The film is scheduled for a July 29th release and it all looks good so far, providing a postivie buzz amongst movie fans, with myself included.

The 2 and a half minute trailer begins by showing him before his transformation, a feeble young man who is achieving nothing. It also suggests a slight aura of comedy in the film, for example when he jumps onto the 'grenade'.
Then it shows his transformation, the beginning of a new dawn in the generation of 'super soldiers'.
But why am I telling you, take a look for yourself.

To those in the UK, that's the US memorial day, which is May 27th.
Vin is happy with the release date, stating that it gives them more time to work on the feature than the time they had for Fast Five

So, what do YOU think!? Many film's have been released, there is alot of surprises in the top 50, will you be correct in your guesses?

All Stats are correct up until the current period.
Listing is courtesy of the International Movie Database

Green Lantern

Yet another superhero film at the cinema at the moment, and it's nowhere near the last.
Ryan Reynolds stars as the green lantern, well stars as a green lantern. A pilot that screws up a hell of a lot is awarded the chance to be a hero. In proper movie fashion he accepts, eventually, and fits the mask perfectly.

So what makes this film different to all the other comic adaptations? Well, Ryan Reynolds for a start. I'm not sure why, but I find him pretty funny. He fits the role perfectly, great casting choice.
This film had humour, action, romance, suspense. Everything to be honest. You can pretty much guarentee a sequel aswell, no surprises there.
Predictive? Well yes, but when you have the comic's to go by it's difficult to alter it too much, as there is the die hard's to appeal too.

Not the best film I've seen, but nowhere near the worse. It was good, and I recommend you watch.
Plus, it's not like the other superhero films where no one knows who he is.
The majority, although it's fairly obvious who it is, ignore the fact that ou can see the majority of the actors face and keep the secret.
This doesn't, and it's quite funny the way it happens.

My Rating: 3 And A Half Stars

X-Men: First Class

The fifth installment in the X-Men series is a prequel, just like X-Men Origins: Wolverine was.
The focus in this film is Magneto and Professor X, but also tell the back story behind Mystiq and others.
The first frame of the film is exactly the same as the first frame to the original X-Men, with young Magneto seperated from his parents and a Nazi camp, realising his gift as the moves and bends the gates.
It's from there that his story continues, slowly linking in with the story of Professor X.
The film explains everything you want. How do they know each other? Why is Professor X in a wheelchair? The story of the school being set up, it's all here. Everything you could want.
Obviously original Marvel comic readers would have known this already, but the film crafts it all in together perfectly.
It all plans out exactly as you want in your head. The film didn't miss anything for me, hit the nail on the head.
If you didn't like any of the X-men films, then the chances are you won't like this, but that's expected.
I honestly can't pick out any criticism at all, 100% perfect.

My Rating- 5 Stars

Kung Fu Panda 2

The sequel to the animated hit from a few years back was recently released, I went on saturday to watch it.
My expectations weren't really that high, the first one was ok but I prefer Disney to dreamworks. However, this didn't alter my judgement of the movie.
I found the film to be reasonably good, It wasn't as good as the first but I'm sure by now you know my feelings that sequels 99% of the time are not as good as the original.
In places I got bored, the story was pretty predictable but to be fair that is an unfair outlook to have over a kid's film. I wasn't blown away at all. My brother, who I was with, aged 6 enjoyed it but like me was bored at times.
That was only a minority of the film though, the rest of it was full of humour and action like it should have been.
The storyline was complicated for young kids to understand, and seeming the younger generation is their audience I think it was a bad card to put on the table.
The whole evil peacock exterminating pandas thing wasn't really cleared up in the movie, for us it was obvious but it never said it, which is what the kids need. I found myself explaning the situation to my brother during and afterwards, which is really the film makers job.

Reading back over this I have made a rather negative point, but the film deserves credit as it did live up the original and didn't vary too much, which is what all sequels should do. The main 'spine' of the story so to speak should always be similiar. Sometimes change is not good.

An enjoyable watch but not as good as it should have been.

My Rating- 3 Stars

Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Hopefully this is the last film in the POTC series.
In my mind they should never have done this film, taking out Orlando Bloom and Kira Knightly was taking out half the movie. Yes Captain Jack was the main focus of the films, but I just don't think it worked without the rest of the cast.
This is yet another story of taking a series too far. At World's End was pushing it, this installment didn't just push it over the edge. It kicked it over, shouting 'THIS IS SPARTAN' in the process.
I might be getting a bit of track here...
The storyline wasn't great, it wasn't poor but it didn't quite catch focus as the last films did.
The characters weren't up to scratch in filling the gaps left by those they had replaced. It's the short of thing that doesn't work without the original characters. A bit like Two And A Half Men, it's just not gonna be the same without Charlie Sheen.
If this wasn't a POTC film, I'd be a hell of alot more brutal in this, but as I liked the previously films I don't wanna hit the nail on the head completely.
My advice is, if you really liked the original films, give this one a miss. You may like it, and hey that's your opinion, but it does mean that you have a awful taste in films. Sorry to inform you.

Disapointing is an understatement. I just hope Disney call it a day and make a new series, as they have the capability to do it.

My Rating- 2 Stars

Hangover 2

I expected this film to be alot lke the first one, and in a way it was. The storyline was almost identical, which is why it's been slated in the papers.
Who goes to see a comedy for the storyline anyway, the film should be judged on it's laughs, and there was a hell of alot of them.
It's not as funny as the first one, but it was never going to be. It's always hard to match the first in the series, especilly if it's a film like this. This was still funny as hell though, not like little chuckles but full on LOL.
Like the first, there was suttle little jokes thrown in too. I probably missed alot of them, like the first you have to watch it a few times to notice some of them.
Alan is still as funny, if not funnier.  He makes these films without that character the film would be shit, he just brings it all together.
Like I said, the stroyline is pretty much exactly the same, it follows the same route as the first movie. Starting with the phone call at he end, the whole check your pockets for clues, then working it all out in the end and feeling like an idiot coz it's so obvious.
However, this hiding place so to speak, wasn't so obvious. Well to me anyway. In the first film as soon s I saw the mattress on the roof it was like, he's up there... Then when they worked out he was it was all a bit like well obviously.
Some people may have worked this out, I didn't, and I'm very good at picking apart movies and seein what's gonna happen.

Overall an enjoyable film and a recommended watch
