Limitless shows a underachieving writer, who's life is in turmoil, experiment by taking a pill that enables him to use 100% of his brain capacity, making him a millionaire fast and turn his life around, but it's not all fun and games.
The film starts of by showing a short clip of later on in the film, where Eddie is standing on the edge of a skyscraper, ready to jump. It then flashbacks to the 'beginning', and goes on from there.
It does take a while to get going, and takes some concentration to understand exactly what is happening and pull all the piece together.
However, once it's underway, Limitless grabs your attention, and leaves you wondering what is going to happen next. It's hardly a high octane, edge of your seat roller coaster encounter, but it is an enjoyable watch.
While watching I found myself playing a bit of a guessing game, trying to work out what twists this movie had up it's sleeve next. Everyone of my guesses was wrong, this film throws up more surprises in every scene.
I went to see this movie with high expectations, as the trailer looked really promising. I'm glad to say this film did not only meet these expectations, but also beat them.
Bradley Cooper plays the role of Eddie Mora brilliantly, after only being drafted in for the role after Shia LeBeouf broke his arm. The star of hit comedy 'The Hangover' shows with this performance that he is certainly showing that he is a great actor.
I'd recommend seeing this if you enjoy 'The Social Network' and 'The Butterfly Effect', but no matter what your taste in movies, Limitless is not to be missed.
My Rating- 4 Stars
